Rental cars are the perfect way to see a new destination. If you haven’t rented a car abroad before, you will find that it really gives you a sense of freedom. There are some things you should bear in mind before renting though, or it can become a lot more complicated. Remember these points before deciding to rent a vehicle:

• Think about the quality of the roads. Some countries have very poor roads, so you will need to consider what type of vehicle you will need. A 4×4 can be a good decision.
• Make sure you have adequate insurance. In certain countries, you will have to purchase the insurance from the car hire supplier as well.
• Make sure the car you hire is in good condition. Check it over before you leave, looking for any damage to the vehicle and checking whether things like the radio and the headlights work.
