Have you got an Engine Problem?
Car engine problems can be serious. They may mean that your car has to be written off entirely. However, there are also minor issues that may appear to be more serious than they are. Here are some of the most common engine problems to help you decide if this is something that is affecting your vehicle:
- An overheating engine. If this issue is affecting you, there will be smoke coming out of your engine. The first thing to check is the coolant – if there isn’t enough or there is a leak, restock it and go to a garage.
- Worn piston rings. This will affect compression, meaning that combustion issues will occur. This is something that needs to be replaced immediately.
- A dead battery. This is usually due to human error, such as someone leaving on the lights. Jump start the car and if this doesn’t work, contact a mechanic for guidance.
