General Car Maintenance Tips
Most people couldn’t imagine life without their car, but often, owners don’t maintain their vehicles as well as they should. It’s easy for even the simplest things to be overlooked in motor care, as you take the health of your car for granted. However, it’s going to need looking after or it can quickly go downhill. Here are some general car maintenance tips to keep everything ticking over:
- Check any warning signals which show up on your dashboard. You’ll be able to see what they mean in your handbook. If you’re ever unsure, contact a garage.
- Keep the break pads in good working order. These should be replaced every 2 years or every 24,000 miles.
- Check your tyre tread. It’s very easy to pump them up yourself with a foot pump, at home or at a garage.
- Top up your washer fluid. This is especially important in cold weather when your windscreen might get smeary and hinder your vision.
- Get your car cleaned regularly. Bird droppings and other substances can actually begin to damage your paintwork and a regular clean is an important part of maintaining your vehicle’s good looks.
