Tips for summer driving
Summer is right around the corner. A time for windows open or air conditioning on and if you are fortunate enough to have a convertible, you will certainly have the roof down.
While it is a time that most of us enjoy you still need to take extra care on the roads in summer too. As well as doing your regular car checks there are a few things you may want to consider.
Make sure you try and avoid as much as possible the suns glare. It can obstruct your view of the road and other drivers, so make sure you keep your windows clean and sun glasses handy. You don’t want to be knocking anyone off their motorbikes or bicycles.
Keep an eye on your tire pressure, as with the heat it can cause your tires to expand and may lead to them blowing out. Ensure that your tires at optimal levels as indicated by your cars manufacturer.
Try to keep an emergency supply kit in your car (not just in summer all year round too) including some water, energy bars, some basic tools, a flash light and jumper cables. So if you do get stuck you have some supplies to keep you going.
