When the 2013 version of the Volkswagen Golf Estate was released, many were impressed but wondered when a more powerful version would release. Well wait no longer, as the Volkswagen Golf R SportWagen is set for release very soon!

With a 296bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, 280lb ft of torque and a six-speed DSG gearbox, the first ever ‘R’ badged estate claims to be able to do 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 155mph.

Of course, the SportWagen is still an estate, so has a massive boot (605-litre) which can extend when the seats are folded (1620-litre).
